About us
PAL Sports History
The Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) started in 1977, with a tackle football program. PAL is a non-profit, mentoring, crime prevention program, sponsored by the Kokomo Police Department. The Police Athletic League functions solely from donations, sponsorships, fundraisers and sign up fees. PAL is a volunteer based program. 100% of the money goes towards the youth in the program. For more information on the different activities, please explore our website or visit us on Facebook-Kokomo PAL.
The Police Athletic League just celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2017. One of our mainstays and policies for forming this league was to make sure that no youngster who wanted to participate in our sports programs, regardless of social or economic circumstance would be excluded. Our thought was to provide “all” youngsters with an organized outlet for their energy!
In 2017 our Tackle Football program went to the “Pigskin League”. We are now a traveling League of sorts. 6 teams from surrounding areas participated in this league. They include: Tipton, Maconaquah, Eastern, Western, Northwestern and Kokomo PAL. Grades included are: 3rd 4th 5th and 6th. Our Flag program (K-2) remains here at PAL.
We also have a spring Soccer program from the middle of April to end of June with ages from 4 to 20. We would like to start our Cheerleading program again but we need some volunteers and someone to step up to run the program. Ages for cheerleading would be K-6th grade.
